We must fix our broken systemYou’ve seen the videos. Unidentified masked men kidnapping innocent mothers selling fruit, or ripping children away from their parents. The current policies of blanket detention and deportation are unconstitutional and un-American. As the son of immigrants from Mexico, this is personal to me. We need a working system that protects our communities while providing a path to citizenship so our undocumented neighbors, friends and coworkers aren’t forced to live in the shadows. Bring home our deported veteransTrump and Valadao have overseen an administration where veterans, who have bravely served and made immense sacrifices for our country, have been deported. The cruelest part about this betrayal is that they are still entitled to a military funeral, so the only way many of them can come back home is in a casket. I will act with urgency to bring our veterans home, and fight for an immigration system that recognizes the dignity of everyone who has bravely served our country. Address the Root CauseMigration doesn’t come out of nowhere. It starts in parts of the world that are unstable, leading workers and families to seek refuge elsewhere. Instead of destabilizing regions overseas and then panicking when the problem shows up at our doorstep, we must work in alliance with other countries to address poverty and political instability that lead migrants to flee their countries in the first place.

<h5>Villegas has seen a swell of donations, endorsements, and media requests after the DCCC’s interference in CA-22</h5>Kern County, CA – A <a href="https://www.filesforprogress.org/datasets/2026/5/ca22_primary_memo_2026.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new poll</a> shows Randy Villegas as the leading Democrat in California’s 22nd Congressional District, amid the meddling by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in this Majority Latino district. The independent poll shows Randy Villegas leads the DCCC’s handpicked candidate Jasmeet Bains 25% to 21%. The poll comes as the Villegas campaign’s message to voters focuses on his roots in the Central Valley, from a working class background who will take on extremism to deliver an economy that works for all. “People in the Central Valley are ready for change, and they’re not going to let DC insiders pick their candidate,” said Randy Villegas, Congressional candidate in CA-22. “I’m running for Congress because I know firsthand the struggles of working families in our district. Our community needs someone who will fight for them to lower costs, expand healthcare, and take on the extremism and corruption that plagues our politics. KERN COUNTY, CA — Today, Tony Cárdenas, former Congressman and longtime Chairman of CHC BOLD PAC, political arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, added his name to a growing list of current and former elected officials across the state supporting Randy Villegas in his campaign to unseat Republican Congressman David Valadao (CA-22). In his over 20 years of public service, Rep. Cárdenas fought for California working families and Latinos across the country. As a child, Randy relied on essential federal programs like SNAP, which are now under attack, often going hungry. Randy worked with his family at the local swap meet (Flea market) on weekends to help them make ends meet. Randy has dedicated his life to public service and working for others. The Central Valley gave Randy and his family their shot at the American Dream.&nbsp; After Middle School graduation, Randy went straight to work at his family’s auto shop. While in college, Randy became involved in the community as a journalist, community organizer, drumline/marching band coach at local schools, and research assistant at CSUB. After graduating from CSU Bakersfield, Randy earned a full-ride Fellowship to UC Santa Cruz, which he attended for his graduate and doctorate degrees. At the age of 25, Randy became a full-time tenure track professor at the College of the Sequoias. Shortly after returning to the Central Valley, and beginning his job, Randy knew his dedication to public service went beyond only teaching. Juggling a full-time job and working towards his Ph.D., Randy was sworn in and appointed to be a trustee for the Visalia Unified Board of Education.&nbsp; Randy was then elected to his seat becoming the only Latino and only Democrat on the school board.
