DCCC’s Handpicked Candidate Can’t Be Bothered to Protect Our Communities From ICE Raids
Kern County, CA – The DCCC’s handpicked candidate Jasmeet Bains can’t be bothered to show up to work to protect our community. Today, Bains failed to show up and vote for AB 2230, which would require federal agents, including ICE, to have a warrant to enter child care centers and polling sites.
Randy Villegas, Congressional candidate for California’s 22nd district released the following statement:
“Jasmeet Bains is yet again showing us that she cannot be trusted to protect our Central Valley families, today she failed to support a bill that would require ICE agents to have a warrant at child care centers and polling locations. The truth is while her campaign is lying to voters about how she’ll stand up to ICE she can't be bothered to protect children from Trump’s deportation machine which continues to rip our communities apart, and now has free range to racially profile including as a way to impede our right to vote. Bains, like David Valadao, is being propped up by corporate interests, and neither of them have what it takes to protect Central Valley residents from ICE, lower healthcare costs, or make things more affordable for working people.”
