PRESS RELEASE

Randy Villegas Outraises David Valadao in California’s 22nd Congressional District

Bakersfield, CA – Today, the Villegas For Congress campaign announced it raised over $1.3 million in Q2 from 35,000 individual donors, outpacing Republican David Valadao and demonstrating growing momentum in one of the nation’s most competitive and consequential House races.

Powered by grassroots supporters across the Central Valley, the Villegas campaign outraised Valadao without taking a single dollar from corporate PACs, and refusing corporate interests. The average donation for the campaign was just $50, with 96% of donors giving $100 or less.

“We’re coming out of the primary stronger than ever and ready to deliver for working people across the Central Valley,” Randy Villegas said. “I'm proud that our campaign is powered by the people of this community – not corporate PACs or special interests. As the cost of groceries, gas, and healthcare continue to climb, the Valley cannot afford a representative who sells out our people to prioritize his party and give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. In Congress, I’ll work with anyone to find ways to give working people a break, fight to reverse Valadao’s devastating health care cuts, and protect our families.”
