Randy Villegas Surges Following DCCC’s Eleventh Hour Meddling
Villegas has seen a swell of donations, endorsements, and media requests after the DCCC’s interference in CA-22
Kern County, CA – A new poll shows Randy Villegas as the leading Democrat in California’s 22nd Congressional District, amid the meddling by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in this Majority Latino district. The independent poll shows Randy Villegas leads the DCCC’s handpicked candidate Jasmeet Bains 25% to 21%.
The poll comes as the Villegas campaign’s message to voters focuses on his roots in the Central Valley, from a working class background who will take on extremism to deliver an economy that works for all.
“People in the Central Valley are ready for change, and they’re not going to let DC insiders pick their candidate,” said Randy Villegas, Congressional candidate in CA-22. “I’m running for Congress because I know firsthand the struggles of working families in our district. Our community needs someone who will fight for them to lower costs, expand healthcare, and take on the extremism and corruption that plagues our politics. I’m staying focused on knocking on every door I can to keep making my case to voters.”
Additional Context:
Following the DCCC’s decision to undercut Latino representation in a district that is 75% Latino, Randy Villegas has seen an outpouring of contributions from individual donors, gained key endorsements.
Last week Villegas was endorsed by Congresswoman Nanette Barragán, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez, and the California School Employees Association (CSEA).
All four County Democratic Party Chairs in CA-22 pushed back against the DCCC’s endorsement of Bains.
