Randy Villegas Statement On San Diego Mosque Shooting
Kern County, CA – Following the tragic shooting at a California mosque in San Diego, Randy Villegas, Congressional Candidate for California’s 22nd District, released the following statement:
“I am deeply saddened and horrified by yesterday's shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego. I am praying for the families of those killed, the congregants, and first responders. No one should ever have to fear for their safety while practicing their faith or gathering in their community. Unfortunately, years of harmful anti-Muslim rhetoric has created an environment of violence against members of the Muslim community. I strongly denounce violence and hate speech in all its forms and stand arm in arm with our Muslim neighbors. I invite us all to come together to reject the harmful fear and hatred that only seeks to further divide us.”
