Randy Villegas Statement On The Passing Of Dolores Huerta

Bakersfield, CA – Today, following the news of Dolores Huerta’s passing in Bakersfield, Randy Villegas released the following statement:

“Dolores Huerta was a fierce organizer and labor rights hero, and I am extremely saddened by the news of her passing. Her strength and tenacity had an immense impact on workers, Latinos, immigrants, and women not just across California but the rest of the country and the world. She was an inspiration, and her commitment to organizing and speaking truth to power until her final days was unwavering. Throughout my life she mentored and inspired me to fight for a future to believe in. In every room she walked into she planted seeds of hope for the future of the Valley and our country.

My prayers and condolences are with her family and everyone close to her, and the millions of people who have been touched by her work. The Valley and the world will miss her deeply, but her fighting spirit will be with us forever. Que en paz descanse. ¡Sí se puede, siempre!”
