Speaker Emerita Pelosi, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla, Reps. Aguilar and Lofgren Endorse Randy Villegas
Kern County, CA – Today, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Senator Adam Schiff, Senator Alex Padilla, House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (CA-33), and Representative Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), Chair of the California Democratic Congressional Delegation announced their endorsement of Randy Villegas in a show of unity among top California and national Democrats following his primary victory in California’s 22nd Congressional District. This morning, Villegas was added to the DCCC’s Red to Blue program as the candidate poised to defeat David Valadao in November.
“Our campaign is about giving voters a representative who will put working families first and stand up for the Central Valley,” said Randy Villegas. "Together, we are building a broad, people-powered movement to defeat David Valadao and make sure the Valley has a voice in Congress that never stops fighting for them.”
"Randy Villegas' story reflects the aspirations and resilience of Central Valley families, and his commitment to public service has earned him respect across the community,” said Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. “He understands the hopes and struggles of Central Valley families because they are his own. Across the Valley, people are coming together behind Randy's campaign because they know he will put families first and deliver real results. This race presents a tremendous opportunity, and Randy is building the coalition that can win it."
"Randy Villegas embodies the values that make the Central Valley strong. As the son of immigrants, a small business owner, educator, and local leader, Randy understands both the challenges and opportunities facing Valley families and is running a campaign reflective of the diversity and promise of this district,” said Senator Alex Padilla. “He has what it takes to defeat David Valadao, help us retake the House, and deliver results for the people of the Central Valley, and I’m proud to stand with him."
"Randy Villegas has spent his life standing up for working people in the Central Valley. He understands what's at stake when health care becomes too expensive and the cost of living moves further out of reach,” said Senator Adam Schiff. “Randy is bringing together a diverse coalition committed to lowering costs, protecting health care, and creating opportunity through education. And he will work hard to deliver for the Valley in Congress."
"Winning tough districts takes a candidate who can bring people together. Randy Villegas has built a reputation for working across differences, earning trust, and focusing on results,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar (CA-33), House Democratic Caucus Chair. “He's building the broad coalition needed to defeat David Valadao and give the Central Valley the representation it deserves. Randy has what it takes to win this race and help Democrats take back the House, and I'm proud to join him in that effort."
"The path to a Democratic House majority runs through the Central Valley, and Randy Villegas has the story, the values, and the ability to bring people together to get it done,” said Rep. Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), Chair, California Democratic Congressional Delegation. “As the son of immigrants, a small business owner, an educator, and a lifelong Valley resident who understands the challenges families face because he's lived them – he is uniting voters around a shared vision for the Valley's future, and I know he'll be a strong advocate for Central Valley families in Congress."
“Randy Villegas is a son of the Valley and has spent his career fighting for working families left behind by David Valadao’s failed representation, votes to gut health care, and history of selling out the Valley to his party bosses and billionaires,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene. “Randy is a people-first leader capable of energizing voters and winning this seat, and we are all in to elect him and flip this seat.”

Randy Villegas is a Central Valley native, auto repair shop owner, and a community college professor. Growing up in a working-class immigrant family, Randy worked hard to help his parents make ends meet. Randy’s family relied on the crucial federal programs like WIC and Medicaid that are now in danger of being cut. Randy worked his way out of poverty through education and has dedicated his life to public service. As a local and school board trustee Randy has delivered for working families by standing up for the best interests of our children. As the only Latino and only Democrat on the school board, Randy has worked across the aisle to get things done. Now, Randy is running for Congress to stand up for other hard-working families who he sees falling through the cracks on David Valadao’s watch.
