Randy Villegas’ Statement on DCCC’s Red to Blue Program
DC Elites Put Their Thumb On The Scale To Prop Up Jasmeet BainS
Kern County, CA – Today, the DC Establishment announced they are supporting Jasmeet Bains, who has repeatedly refused to protect the interests of the Central Valley, including her Prop 50 vote to protect Trump's attempt to rig our elections, in her primary against Randy Villegas, who has the support of all four in-district Democratic Party County Committee Chairs. This comes during a time when the Democratic establishment is increasingly unpopular and out of touch with voters.
Since announcing his campaign over a year ago, Villegas is running a formidable campaign - earning key national and local endorsements and is the top fundraiser in this Primary without taking any corporate PAC money. Villegas is the only Latino candidate running in this 74% Latino district.
“It is undemocratic to see DC elites putting their thumb on the scale in this race,” said Randy Villegas. “This district deserves a representative that will not flip flop on issues, one that shows up to take votes, one that is willing to be seen in our communities, and that is not Jasmeet Bains. Voters have the power to choose who represents our community, not DC elites and corporate interests. We cannot win this election only to trade one corrupt Representative who’s sold out our community for another. The Valley cannot be bought, and it’s time for a Congressmember who can’t be either. This is why I will continue to knock on every door and meet voters where they’re at to ensure we take our working families to DC.”
His endorsements include Kern County Chair Christian Romo, Tulare County Chair Joshua Evans, Kings County Chair Cathy Jorgensen, Fresno County Chair Ruben Zarate, Civil Rights Leader Dolores Huerta, Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Linda Sanchez, Rep. Robert Garcia, Rep. Greg Casar, Rep. Maxwell Frost, Rep. Ro Khanna, United Auto Workers, SMART, End Citizens United, California School Employees Association, California Teachers Association/National Educators Association, Caliornia Nurses Association/National Nurses United, California Young Democrats, and many more.

Randy Villegas is a Central Valley native, auto repair shop owner, and a community college professor. Growing up in a working-class immigrant family, Randy worked hard to help his parents make ends meet. Randy’s family relied on the crucial federal programs like WIC and Medicaid that are now in danger of being cut. Randy worked his way out of poverty through education and has dedicated his life to public service. As a local and school board trustee Randy has delivered for working families by standing up for the best interests of our children. As the only Latino and only Democrat on the school board, Randy has worked across the aisle to get things done. Now, Randy is running for Congress to stand up for other hard-working families who he sees falling through the cracks on David Valadao’s watch.
